Polylactide, also known as Polylactic Acid, is a thermoplastic synthesized from organic sugars. PLA is one of the most common material for 3D printing filaments due to its eco-friendliness and ease of use. PLA filament maintains several desirable properties for 3D printing such as a low melting temperature and glass transition temperature. As a result, PLA offers a high level of detail and exceptional print quality.
Toner Plastics filament goes through a rigorous, multi-step quality control process. Our fully trained operators check the filament during all parts of the production process, from extrusion to final packaging. We routinely evaluate the manufacturing process to ensure that the final product is of the highest quality.
We are proud to produce all of our filament in the USA at our plant in East Longmeadow, MA.
Our PLA has a diameter tolerance of +/- 0.05 mm to ensure a consistent flow rate. The filament is tightly wound and secured to prevent tangling. Each spool is vacuum sealed with a desiccant to protect it from the elements, as well as wrapped in bubble wrap to provide protection during transit.**
PLA SDS SheetPLA Filament Data Sheet
All Toner Plastics PLA filament is Reach and RoHS compliant.
**Despite our precautions, spools can occasionally still experience damage during transit. If you are in need of assistance for damaged spools, please reach out via our contact form and our stellar customer service team would be happy to assist you!
